Woman are the victim of objectification and over sexualization. It isn’t cool that I would get expelled if I walked around my school shirtless but guys do it all the time in my place of education and no one says anything to them. Those consequences aren’t fair, they aren’t justified, and you’re supporting an unfair and unjust set of rules that have been made to keep women in a place of weakness and lack of protest. Teenage girls should wear belly shirts if they want, I wear belly shirts because they’re comfortable, I get sweaty, and its 99 degrees. Why the fuck should those reasons lead me through the path of shame because I expose my stomach, a piece of skin cover muscles that’s used to keep my insides inside. People are well aware that the negative attention is being drawn to them, they aren’t stupid. People know that other people are going to say things. The point is that it isn’t right for them to say anything, it’s fucking rude and actually is misogynistic as hell. People “bitch” about it to bring awareness to the issue so that it may change in the future.
